Close Call

I darn near got clipped by a car today. I was walking across the street on a walk light, downtown, near my office; she was blowing through the red light and I was directly in her path. Close call!

I felt the cold metal brush against my skin, smelled the burning rubber, and saw the absolute look of horror in her eyes when she slammed on the brakes and her vehicle lurched to a stop an inch from knocking me off my feet.

Our eyes met at the same time as both her hands clutched her pounding heart and mine went limp on my side. She was trying to catch her breathe while I was thanking the Creator that today wasn't my time.

It made me realize our life can take a drastic change at the blink of an eye. Yep, a very close call!

My heart is pounding after reading this. (;-( We never know what the next second of life and living has in store for us as it is not meant to be that way.
Stay safe
