Knee Deep

Julia Cameron says, “……we must be willing to stand knee deep in the rapids of the human condition, accepting that life, by its nature, is turbulent, powerful and mysterious.”

I think that’s exactly what writing does. It brings me in the middle of the action and opens the door for me to experience it all. This is why I love to write and why I believe in its magic.

It’s a powerful force when something allows me to jump in the middle of the action instead of standing on the perimeter and watching everything pass me by.

Standing on the perimeter may seem safer but it really isn’t. It’s a place of holding back and holding back who I am is not only unfair to me but also to those around me.
