Popping In

Can I just pop in here as if nothing has happened after having been absent for darn close to 2 months? You darn tootin I can. It's my blog after all.

So where do I start? Maybe with the picture I snapped this morning. That's as good a place as any to get this ball rolling. Check this out - that's some big bird!

I was sitting at the kitchen table sipping on my morning tea when I saw what I thought was an eagle out of the corner of my eye. Being that the eagle is my favourite bird I ran to the front window to see if that's what I actually saw, and there it was swooping in for a landing on top the neighbour's roof - a Blue Heron! There are a few of these around here but whenever I've seen them has been on the lakeshores or water's edge somewhere. I've never seen one flying in the sky much less making a five minute pit stop by landing on a roof right across from me. Isn't she a beauty!

I've been doing a lot of writing and taking a lot of pictures lately. Mostly to do with my own personal journey through an issue that's been with me since I was a little tot - that of clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth. I've taken pictures of the many pictures I've drawn in my journal alongside my writings and sending them along to a trusted friend who has walked alongside of me and followed me through most of my journeys. It's been interesting as I've been peeling back the layers and digging in like a police dog pawing his way to some buried clues.

I'm getting somewhere I think. I can see some changes in the physical as I work through the emotional and psychological aspects that are tied to what has become a lifelong engrained habit for which the scars run deep - like those of a branding iron long after the smell of burning flesh has dispersed and life has moved on.

Yep, it's been quite the journey and I'm not done yet but I am moving along. You know, something I've always held fast to is to only teach what I myself have practiced and I do believe that once I finish this journey I will go on to develop and teach a course called Visual Journaling. The power of the written word along with visual images is really quite powerful. I always have something cooking to keep me on the edge of my seat. If it's not a Blue Heron coming in for a landing, it's the truth coming to the page.

Welcome back. Spring is in the air for sure.
Your Blue Heron friend was remarkable. Since we live near a lake we have them along our roadside ditches, many times with their young tagging behind!
They are indeed one of Earth Mother's treasures. I hold my breath each time we come across one taking off since they have a huge wing span and are not "light-weights." They need a long "run-way" for lift off!
"Visual Journaling," now there is one I have not given mush thought. Excellent idea. Sign mE up now!
I would almost bet when "writer's block" comes calling some "visual writing" would do the trick.
Take care and hurry back soon.

Visual journaling is something that I did do through my dry spells from writing. No words accompanied it but quotes and Messages From The Universe, single sentence ah-ha's from my own brain. I'd love to take a course in this, too.

Glad to hear that your finding time to take care of You.

It's so good to read your words here again!!

Namaste.
