Blessings and Gratitude

On our way to work early yesterday morning Andree and I were talking about the bank fraud. We were saying how the pangs of regret and fear that would ignite in the pit of our stomachs didn’t happen as frequently and about how when they did stop in for a visit we were able to let them go and move on with our day.

We talked about how we were feeling more settled about the whole situation knowing we would do what we had to do to get through it, and about knowing how somehow we would pull through this and be alright. We talked about how grateful and blessed we are for all the friends and family who emailed, called, or stopped by to say how sorry they were, or to offer us help and support through thoughts and prayers. We brought to mind how no one was sick or hurt, we still had a roof over our heads and how we still had the most important thing - we had each other.

It was after Andree had left for Vernon and I had just finished with my first appointment of the day that my cell phone rang. I couldn’t recognize the number and thought maybe it was one of my clients wanting to reschedule an appointment. It was Iris(the lady at the bank) who had taken my information to file a fraud report. “I have some news,” she said. “You were indeed scammed.” “Duh.” I responded. “I pretty much figured that out a few days ago.”

“There’s more,” she said. “Your funds have been deposited back into your bank account.” “What?” I said. “The bank decided to absorb this. The full amount of what you lost has been deposited back into your bank account.”

I threw the phone up in the air and danced around the room side stepping and singing. “Yahoo! Yahoo! Thank you! Thank you!”

And now I want to say to everyone who was there for us the same great big thank you. Thank you for being there, thank you for being part of our life, thank you for who you are. We are truly blessed.
