Flying High
By tonight I’ll be soaring like an eagle. I hope the weather clears up so I can Velcro my face to the window and gawk at the mountains in all their glory. It’s a different trip to fly above this majestic scene rather than driving through them. For one thing, the trip to Edmonton would take me at least 9 hours by car but it will only take me 1 hour traveling with West Jet. Saving that many hours is considered a plus in our busy rush, rush world and it slides over on the minus side when you consider your time to relax, let your mind wander and enjoy the scenery is next to nil and we could all use more of that in our lives.
I’ve often thought of high jacking a plane. I would storm into the cockpit armed with a hot lemon meringue pie or a chocolate cake dripping with icing and topped with a big scoop of ice cream, and stick it in both the pilot and co-pilot’s face until they drooled and begged promising to do whatever I want in order to have some. “Bring us down”, I would command. “Lower this bird 5,000 feet and cut your speed in half so we can have a real look at those mountains instead of zipping through them like that. Then you can dig in and have however much you want.” Who knows, maybe they already fear this kind of thing could happen and that’s why they keep telling people, “Please remain seated with your seatbelts buckled as we may be experiencing some turbulence while flying over the mountains.”
Ahhh....my mind wanders in the strangest of places and my fingers follow in hot pursuit never knowing what’s coming up next. Here’s a piece of information worth recording. I AM FINISHED PAINTING!!! Did you hear that? FINISHED!!! I slapped on the last coat in the last bedroom yesterday and I tossed that paintbrush out quicker than you could bat an eye. I’ve had enough cleaning, fixing and renovating to last me for a while. Andree and I decided that when I get back we will gather our painting clothes, find a spot up on the mountainside somewhere and hold a burning ceremony to commemorate the occasion. Might even bring a marshmallow or two.
So what am I going to do now? Sheesh.....there’s much to be done. I will concentrate on bringing home some bacon instead of the constant spending that’s been going on. And a huge part of that will be to spend time working at making my new business a successful one. Yep, through all this we were also working at setting up a new business which will be a branch off of Inner Pathways. There's still a bit of tweaking to do but you can check it out by going to www.rainbowcounselors.com .
Keep in mind that anybody can use this service even if it is set up with a specific target population in mind. In addition to this new venture I want to concentrate more on the writing course I’m presently giving online. I would love to do a whole lot more online courses. I love doing those. Then of course, I want to see about booking some workshops with live groups here in Kelowna and the surrounding communities. Hopefully that will be enough to keep me out of trouble.
But for today, I will be wrapping up some lose ends around here and going to help Mom with her dinner before I pack my bag and head out to the airport. I am going to have a weekend of overdosing on the company of my three daughters, their beaus and my two grandchildren. But first I have to go make that lemon meringue pie.

Great post!
Have a good trip, will look foward to your report when you return home.
Too bad I am not that Bush pilot I always wanted to be or we would skim those mountains tops just for the hell of it. I felt the same way on our journey to visit.
Congrats on tossing the paint brush. When you return you will realize what a fantastic job you both accomplished.
Have a happy. Enjoy your famly while you replenish body, mind, and spirit.

Hi Annette,
Your new website looks great. I'm sure you will be sucessful and a great help to many people. Hope you have a great weekend with your family. Our trip was a quick one even though we did drive through the mountains. Quite a bit of winter coming across through Banff but clear sailing coming home yesterday on Hwy 16 through Jasper. Back to my school work and looking forward to new tomorrows. I'm glad the painting is done and I look forward to hearing about the burning of the paint clothes ceromony.
love always,
Phillis
