I was faithful to my walk again this morning. In fact I even threw a little short distance jogging in there a few times. The windshield on my car was iced up with frost which means it was pretty cool out there but the hundreds of birds chirping in the trees by the house and down the street didn’t seem to mind. They are convinced spring is here so who am I to doubt their enthusiasm.
Mom’s move went well. She looks so much happier in this new place and now to have her own room. She even seems to be less tired and a lot more alert since she’s there. I think what’s making a huge difference is they are letting her follow her own rhythm. They let her sleep when she wants and as late as she wants. They don’t wake her up just because it’s more convenient for them.
That’s what the other place, which was much bigger and run like a hospital, seemed to do. It’s not so heart breaking to see her now. She seems to enjoy being part of the activities they have for the residents and she was showing interest in how her room should be placed. She even said she wanted a little curtain at the top of her window.
As for us, we have to get out of here this morning, right away actually. There’s a guy here doing the house inspection for the people who are buying and it will take him a good three hours so we’re going to skid-addle and get out of the picture while they do their thing. With the inspection being done today, it means some of the conditions should be removed by tomorrow morning and then there will only be one condition left which is the time we said we would allow the people who bought to sell their own house. So far so good……. What is it I’ve been hearing lately? ”Patience is a virtue!”
In the meantime, I’m off - going to see the spectacle of eagles on Otter Lake. Here's a picture taken by Dale and Phillis.
