Ceilings and Floors
Rats! The ceiling fell. Once more we’re under cloud cover. Where did my sun go? The next time it shows up I’m going to lasso it and anchor it down somehow. Then come morning I could just pull on the rope and say, “okay, time to get up now, you hear.”
Yesterday I handed in my exam at school and I stopped by the CPCA and picked up their 200 question exam which cost me a pretty $300. That means two things. First, is that I will be writing another exam in between raking the lawn today and second that I hope the Kraft dinners are on sale this week.
This is supposed to be the last of it. After this exam there are to be no more probing questions into my mind in a quest to retrieve the information I’ve accumulated in the last year. Thank goodness. I don’t think I could take another one.
I went to bath Mom last night. She was in a good mood with some good moments mixed in with some more confused ones. After I bathed her she was falling asleep in her wheelchair waiting for her bedtime snack. I said, “Mom, you’re sleeping and you haven’t had your snack yet.” She half opened her eyes and responded, “I am going to wash my floor now.”
I put my arm around her and said. “It’s okay Mom, rest your eyes, you don’t have to wash the floor, it’s been done. Besides, you’re too tired. You don’t have to wash floors no more. You washed enough of them in your life. It’s someone else’s turn now.” To this she opened her eyes a crack and smiled. Old habits die hard.
