We started off with a sunny mesmerising drive through a winter wonderland up the mountain to my sister and my brother-in-law’s condo. There we shared a scrumptious turkey supper with all the trimmings before setting out for an unforgettable, breathtaking experience - a sleigh ride through the forest under a moon lit sky and stars so close it felt like you could reach out and pocket them. Four Clydesdale horses by the name of Tom & Jerry and Doc & Bud harnessed with bells and all dashing through the snow right up to what I would be very happy to call home – a beautiful old fashioned cabin in the middle of the bush. Nope it doesn’t get much better.
Unless of course.........you’re partial to warming up in a hot tub before heading off to bed. There’s nothing like being outside in a hot tub and watching the icicles hanging from the rooftops start to drip under the morning sun. As much as I hated to leave the magic and the peacefulness of it all behind, even the trip back down the mountain was beautiful. How could one not be touched by scenery of the snow laden trees better known as “snow ghosts.”
My heart and my soul were filled to the brim. So, so much to be grateful for.
