Dear Emily:

Winter arrived today with great big dump of huge, fluffy white flakes of snow. I don’t imagine you’re feeling too sympathetic to my cause since you’ve been in the midst of winter and much colder temperatures for quite a while already. I don’t know if it’s here to stay but I suspect it might be. It was beautiful to watch and I couldn’t resist going out for a walk so I got dressed and off I went. I looked like the abominable snowman by the time I got back home.

It was kind of a funny walk though. I was wearing my sneakers because I don’t have any winter boots and the wet snow kept forming balls under the middle of my shoe so I was walking in a rocking motion. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my jaunt down the country road that loops around my place. Everything looks so different and sparkling clean when covered with a fresh blanket of snow it’s like being in a whole different world.

There was a lot of activity going on in our little town of Armstrong so I was tempted more than once to go out and browse the craft sales, bake sales, and various entertainment things but I opted to stay home, do some journal writing and hit the books. I’ve been doing some studying and working on my assignments that are due next week. Tonight I’ll probably sit back and watch a movie since my brain will most likely have turned to a pile of mush by then.

I hope you’re having a nice weekend and that you don’t have to venture out too far in those nasty cold temperatures you’re having in your neck of the woods.
