Get on With It!

At the beginning of the week there was a robin in what was beginning to be a green lawn. This morning there’s a blanket of white covering my hopeful spirit that believed spring was finally here. I got up to a lot more white than green. It’s still coming down now as I look out of the big windows where I sit at my desk poke at the keyboard and watch my words appear on the screen.

It’s a mixture of wet stuff as if someone up there has their wires crossed and can’t quite figure out what season it is and what to send down. All the while I’m down here frantically flailing my arms up in the air and screaming at the top of my lungs. NO! NO! You’ve got it all wrong. It’s April 2nd today. Got it? April! April showers bring May flowers. But no one seems to hear me.

The sky is covered. One solid sheet of greyish white that comes all the way down to the tree line. If there is any sun out there it’s doing a darn good job of hiding its smiley face. I thought maybe if I’d be the big guy and put it out there first. I thought I could entice the sun to come out of hiding so I cracked a smile from ear to ear but to no avail. It refuses to come out and play.

I’ve been known to get on the road every now and then and make my way up the mountain just to catch a glimpse of that elusive ball of fire but I have a sneaking suspicion that no matter how high I’d climb today, I still wouldn’t catch hide nor hair of it because right now we’re socked in and it looks like it’s here for the day. Tomorrow though, that will be a totally different story. Or maybe even tonight I could sneak up the mountain top and catch that ball of fire as it makes it’s decent behind the clouds. The eternal optimist - that’s me. Let’s get on with the show. Not SNOW! SHOW! – the green one that is.

Hilarious Annette. I know how you feel. Still cold here in Calmar and we had snow yesterday morning and more coming tomorrow apparently. Still only climbing to about plus 3 during the day and dropping to minus 15 at night but by next week they are saying double digits!! I hope they mean in the plus!! I too will be the eternal opptimist! Thanks for the smiles.
