“I am a strong and healthy person and I intend to stay that way.” Louise Hay
What an appropriate affirmation to start my day with as I begin my first full day of Weight Watchers. I’ve been hemming and hawing about it all week and I finally decided to spend the money and take the plunge. I went to my first meeting last night. Today, I’m realizing I’ll have to go shopping and get some more healthy stuff into the house maybe even some fun snacks like rice cakes and such. Not a whole lot to jump up and down about really.
This whole Weight Watcher’s thing works on a point system and it works out that I’m allowed 18 points a day. It will require a change in eating habits and studying of what foods I can or can’t have. Already I’m paying attention to what I put into my mouth now that I have to see how many points everything is worth and I have to deduct it off my total for the day. My sister was at the meeting last night too. She has been in the program since January and she got a star last night and a round of applause. It’s the second one she gets so far. It’s my understanding that people get a star every time they lose 5 lbs. Makes me feel like I’m back in grade one learning a bunch of new stuff and I have a chance at earning myself a star if I learn it well and show good results.
I never ever thought I would be as heavy as I am now and that the day would come where I would even consider joining something like Weight Watchers. Since I started studying, working at setting up my own business as well as getting more into my counselling practice – I haven’t been very physically active so the calories I’ve been ingesting have been sticking to my ribs. I’m hefting around 30 pounds more than what I’m used to and it sure would feel good to have it come off. It’s high time I create some changes here and set myself up with a more balanced life. I am a strong and healthy person and I intend to stay that way!

Congratulations Annette! If we would only listen when our body talks to us we all would be much better off.
Glad to read you are getting a handle on this before the weather changes so you can really enjoy being out of doors again.
You can do it. Best of luck
Barbara
