Endings and New Beginnings

What goes up must come down – what starts ends. 2008 is on its way out the door and who knows what 2009 has in store. It’s hard to believe a new year is poking its head around the corner and that nine years have passed since we began this 2000 year odyssey but here we are already turning another page into a brand spanking new year.

I’m not really making any New Year’s resolution. Do people even still do that or is it a thing of the past that indicates how old I am like knowing about black and white televisions and party line phones?

What I want to do, intend to do, will do - is to start each day from a place of love and gratitude. That’s it. Sounds simple enough. It’s the executing part that might take a little getting used to, just like rolling from the 19th into the 20th century did. I would love to be able to look back nine days, nine weeks, nine months and yes, even nine years from now and say – I did it! I started each and every day from a place of love and gratitude.

Looking in the rear view window it’s been a full and busy year as I’ve tried to establish myself in my business and to make a living doing what I love doing. There have been many growing pains, frustrations and challenges as I’ve nudged my way forward but there have been many rewards and successes too. The most rewarding and satisfying for me always comes from witnessing people who reconnect with their strengths, their power, their light, their uniqueness and magnificence. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Christmas this year was spent with the kids in Calgary and it was wonderful. Getting back was a bit of a challenge but regardless of weather or road conditions, a trip through the mountains is always very meaningful and rejuvenating for both of us. Here are some pictures Andree snapped as we travelled on our journey.

Try and find your way through this snow covered forest!

Road conditions on the way to Calgary - typical winter stuff.

Road conditions on the way back - a little more challenging!

Barbara and Paula this picture and the next two pictures are for you. It's the rock wall where we filled our water bottle when we took you to the mountains. This one is on our way to Calgary.

This is the same rock wall taken from a different angle on our way back.

And this is the place we stopped to have a snow ball fight with the little bit of snow there was on the ground. We wouldn't have to look for snow now.

One of the tunnels we go through to protect us from avalanches in the Roger's Pass

This is what man does when they can't find a way around the moutain. They blast it, haul it out and build their road through.

Even if the weather wasn't the greatest we still managed to see some of the mountains in all their glory.

This is one of my favorites.

And this is when Andree says she feels like she's snuggled in nice and cozy.

Happy New Year Annette and Andree. I have driven that route so many times I can take myself right into the pictures. Beautiful in all seasons but challenging in the winter. 2009 waits somewhere in the night to bring us once again to the place we were meant to be. Happy New Year.

love always,

Thank you for the pictures! Andree, they look professionally taken! Maybe you've found a new calling! And thank you for the memories from our visit, Annette! You made me smile and filled me up with the warmth of true friends.
