R & R days are so rejuvenating. It’s like getting a whole new license on life. When I get away from the everyday things that for the most part make up a “normal” day in my life, I feel like someone removed all my worn out sluggish parts and inserted some brand spanking new ones in their place.
Yesterday, Andree and I decided to attend a spiritual service in Vernon. So off we went wearing our Sunday duds but not without our comfy sweats sitting on the back seat because you just never know where one might decide to go.
As you would have it – we weren’t out of the service more than a few minutes and we decided to hike back to the place where we held our women’s retreat to go pick up an important piece of equipment we had left behind. So off we went to retrieve our trusty old popcorn maker (any excuse to go for a long drive will do).
We took our time making our way up there enjoying every little bit of nature along the way, and after we had the famous popcorn maker safely tucked in beside the Sunday duds we decided to take the long way around, through Cherryville to make our way back home.
But that too took us a while. There is a lot to see when traveling through the mountains in the fall and one just has to take the time to take it all in. As we were making our way back to the main highway we crossed over Ferry creek. And just to the left of the creek was a beautiful forestry road that meandered right along the creek’s edge. How could we resist. Out came the journals and books and there we were surrounded by and breathing in the gifts of nature. When we left we said thank you for our time there and for the piece we took back with us to put on our kitchen table.
A gift of nature

Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday. I can just see you both driving and looking and appreciating all the beauty of the fall season. How fresh the air smells and how clear the creeks runs. It is where I love to be the most too. Your gift from Nature is beautiful. Still brilliant wild rose surrounded by greens and gold. Thanks for sharing.
love always,
Phillis
