Wobbling Waves
I am still walking around like I imagine someone with a hangover would although I wouldn’t know for sure since I’ve never experienced one. “Ya, right,” people say if this little tidbit of information happens to come up in conversation. It’s true though. I have never touched a drink. Never had the least bit of desire to. I think it comes from seeing and smelling enough of it when I was growing up. As I was saying, the log jam has loosened but I’m still feeling somewhat unsteady on my feet, wobbling back and forth as I explore the, “what next?” kind of questions.
My mark for my final course came in this morning and lo and behold, I’ve somehow managed to squeeze “A’s” all the way through my studies. It’s a good thing or maybe not such a good thing, that I never had to take a course on self-marketing because that is most certainly where I would have failed. I suck at that kind of stuff and that is where a lot of my wobbling is coming from right now.
It looks like our heat wave is over. The scorching hot sun retreated behind a cover of clouds which graced us with several downpours over the past few days cooling things off to more bearable temperatures. We’ve actually been able to hear ourselves talk in the house without having to scream above the noise of the old John Deere air conditioner roaring in the corner of the kitchen. Add to that being able to leave the curtains open so we could see the light of day and being able to go to bed at a decent time plus snuggling up in a blanket and by golly; it’s been quite a treat.
The sun is out in full force again today but it’s not as forceful as it has been for the past couple of weeks and the air smells fresh and clean. It’s time for me to go out there and do my thing – wobbling, waving, stepping forward into the future.

Hi Annette,
Congratulations on the great marks!! The heat wave has retreated here as well for a few days. I will never complain about the heat after all the extreme cold I experienced here last winter. I do enjoy the cooler days when it is easier to be outside actively doing things and not just relaxing with a book under the huge maple tree that keeps the temperature a lot cooler. I still need a little more summer or a very long warm Indian Summer.
love always,
Phillis
"and by golly, it's been quite a treat"
i can relate to that. never thought i'd see the day when clouds, cool and rain would be welcomed, but that's how it is
i am no longer a sun worshipper
can't wait till fall comes so i can use my oven indiscriminately again
