Back on Track
So here’s what I ended up doing. Or more precisely, what WE ended up doing until 1:30 a.m. yesterday. We ironed all 600 pages. That’s right. Ironed! It was a long process which involved separating each and every single page because they were all mushy and plastered together by the water. We had to be careful not to rip them as we inserted a dish towel in between pages and pressed down with a hot iron to absorb the moisture.
It was about 11:30 when I pulled the book out from underneath the toolbox and realized I would have to buy a new one unless I could somehow magically blink my eyes or twitch my nose and dry this one up. That’s when I thought of the iron – a great idea for a couple of pages - a long drawn out process for a thick, wet, soggy book, especially for someone who hates ironing. I don’t even iron my clothes and here I am in the wee hours of the morning ironing my way through 600 pages of Educational Psychology. Gag me.
But in the end it was well worth the effort. After being dunked, towelled, compressed and pressed and then sitting under weights all night long, today, the book doesn’t look so bad after all. It’s crinkly and bumpy and wavy but I can still read it okay. Now back to the learning.

What a great idea!! Talk about creative! I never would have thought of using an iron! You should post a picture.
Have a happy day!
Love, Paula
Well, I've missed a few of your postings!! They were fun to read and hear about all that is happening. Glad it worked out with the text book. I've heard it shows a persons true character when they are presented with a minor disaster of human kind and that how they handle it is usually how they handle other challenges in life. I'd say you both did well.
love always,
Phillis
