From My Home to Yours

I haven't written here for so long and I've been missing coming here to drop some words. My forty day online course had me doing a lot of writing of which maybe I'll post a few entries here but for now, here's a photo tour of our place.

I went and got Mom and brought her over to see our place feed her lunch and give her a Christmas present. Her favorite, a fresh baked lemon meringue pie. She was smiles from ear to ear after that treat I tell you.

Our new living room chairs and lamps we aquired just yesterday. We finally have a place to sit!

Another chair purchased through a computer ad and our second lamp. Hanging on the wall are two beautiful oil paintings my grandma did when she was 16 years old. They are signed and dated 1915. What a treasure those are.

In this picture you see into the kitchen and part of my office space where I have huge windows on either side of me. Oh, and there's our pet fish in that bowl with the bamboo shoots.

That dresser belonged to my grandmother on my mother's side of the family. I'm not sure how old that piece is but it's old. There used to be a little table something like that which was just as old but when I was a kid I decided I wanted a table I could use while sitting on the floor so I cut the legs about 6 inches from the floor. I wasn't on my parents fan list that day.

Another view from the living room into my office where I sit at my laptop when I write to each one of you. Our Christmas tree in the corner full of white crocheted ornaments made by Andree's mother before she died.

Our cozy little table where we sip our morning brew and chat over a delicious home cooked meal prepared by the master chef Andree.

And here is where it all begins. I only go there to get snacks.

A view of the bedroom with Fred and Bailey having a chat on the bed. At the foot of the bed is my Dad's grandmother's antique trunk (well over 100 years old) packed full of my journals.

A second view allows you to see the patio doors that lead out to our little back yard. Won't that be fun this summer.

Andree's office, craft and computer set up. Notice Pumpkin's hammock and favorite spot sitting on the window ledge.

Andree, answering your emails and caught by surpirse as I called out her name. It's the only way to get her on camera.

Looking good! I'll bet it's nice to have some furniture. Now you can have people over. Memere must have been thrilled to break out of the joint for a few hours. We'll have to come out and visit in the spring. I hope you're all done renos now and can take it easy until spring and the yard work starts. Love Karen

Happy, blessed holidays dear friends. Annette you mom looks terrific! I bet that pie was a real treat.
You home is wonderful. It very much belongs to each of you the way you have worked to call it your own.
The hand-made decorations are my favorite on your tree. So many generations are shown throughout your place in honor of days gone by.
Traditional with spiritual feelings felt before continue to live once more in your home and hearts.
Thank you for sharing your world.

Blessings,
Barbara
