It's Coming

Instead of scrubbing, or sanding, or fixing, or painting yesterday I spent the day freeing my books and my journals from those gawdy cardboard boxes. Once those come out it means we’re here to stay for a while. This move has taken a lot out of me. It seems like it’s taking forever to get moved in and established. I suppose it’s because of all the renovations we’ve tackled in the midst of it all. Either that or I’m not as young as I used to be. Nawwww....can’t be that. Must be the amount of stuff we’ve had to do or the time of year or something.

So far we’ve ignored the outside which is looks like an overgrown jungle but today I plan to make it to the store and buy us a rake so we can at least pick up the leaves that dropped from our two little trees at exactly 2 p.m. on Friday October 26th. It was that quick. It was like they were dropping their robe to step into the shower or something. Along came a breeze and down came the leaves. I used to have two rakes, a shovel and a hoe plus other gardening paraphernalia but we’re so darn efficient that when we thought we had a deal on a condo we got rid of it all.

Our bathroom is looking nice and spiffy. A person almost needs a step ladder to step into the huge soaker tub we decided to put in but it was worth it. It sure feels good after a long days work to grab a book and soak for a while. It’s not too great for writing in my journal though. I tried that and the edges are too high to write on. Maybe I’ll rig something up later on when I have more time.

Well, off I go to start another day. There’s lots on the agenda to look after. Some running around to do in town. Bills to pay. Somehow they always find us no matter where we move. And maybe we can unpack a few more boxes from the spare room. Someone I know is sure getting anxious to move her desk and work table in there so she can set up shop and start making more journals. Can’t say I blame her. “It’s coming”, as my counsellor used to tell me when I was working through my healing process. “Yep, and so is Christmas”, I used to answer.

Trunk # 1. There are two of these. A total of 102 journals. I numbered them all this time.

Book shelve # 1. There are also two of these filled on both sides.

Trees getting naked in the back yard.

Hurray!! The journals are back where they belong and the bookshelves are full. What else do you need? Those things spell "complete" to me!!

Annette, Looks like the furnishings of a place becoming "home" to me. :-) I think you are making real progress, or as your counselor says, "It's coming!" I'm glad you have Andree to help and give you support. Moving is really difficult when doing it alone. Things go real slow then. Blessings on your continued progess. Hugs, Linda
