It’s been a short night. But here I am back at the computer. I spend most of my day, I’d say about 90% of it sitting here starring at this screen. By the end of the evening my back looks like the Hunch Back of Notre Dame, my eyes are staring at each other across my nose and I look like something that’s been zapped all night in the microwave.
My partner, bless her heart, has been very patient and understanding of what is starting to look like a very serious addiction to this electronic box of wires and computer chips in favor of a real relationship with her. But even though I like my computer (on most days anyway) and how it keeps me in touch with the world, I don’t ever see that happening.
A thing can never replace a warm hand, a caring heart, a belly laugh, softly spoken words or even a genuine tear or two. But sometimes one needs to be reminded of that and sometimes a flower is a good way to do this. So that’s what I did in my break yesterday. I marched on over to the flower shop and bought her a rose.
So spoken words are few but written words are plenty as I continue to write here, in my journal and in response to this wretched exam. My goal is to get another 10 questions answered today before I head out to Kelowna and that will bring me to question #55. Not too bad considering I started on Monday and I didn’t get to work at it at all on Wednesday.

I’m going to get to the end of that sucker yet. In the meantime, my desk looks like the eruption of Mt. St. Helene and I look like the mad professor on a search for the answers that will bring me, get this, ONE point! Ah…..I tell you. One day I will look back at this and laugh and hopefully be able to say – I did it!
